How to use split screen on an iPad
Step
Find the option
Open an app and tap the Multitasking (three dots) button at the top of the screen.

Splitting the screen
Select the Split View option to have a division in the middle of the Screen, or the Slide Over button to move the current app to the side and go to the Home Screen.

Multitask a single app
With the app open, swipe up from the bottom of the screen with one finger until the Dock appears.

Duplicate the app
Select and hold the app and drag it to either side of the screen.

Find the controller
Touch the controller bar in the middle of the screen that divides the two apps.

Chose the app to close
Drag the controller off of the screen to the right or left. The bar will close the app in the direction you drag it.

Remove a floating app
Touch and hold the app controller bar at the top of the floating window.

Close the app
Swipe the app off the screen to the right or left. This will leave you with a split screen, so you just have to repeat the 1 step.
